Beer Advocate and Gambit and Parades and Awesome

So, I can't link the content to Beer Advocate February issue #85, but look! My article on Bayou Teche is in it.

And since it's Carnival Time, my Gambit columns have been themed appropriately:

The parade route story also has Mardi Gras tips from Avenue Pub owner Polly Watts.

I had a crazy week last week too - went to Deuce McAllister's Ole Saint to try their lunch menu and investigate their beer selection, then out to Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, MS to check out the three exclusive beers that Ocean Spring's Crooked Letter Brewing are providing the casino.

Then off to Booty's to try their beer cocktails, and out to the Lucky Rooster to the Southern Prohibition beer pairing dinner. Ate a lot of Asian inspired cuisine, served family style, with the very nice folks from Southern Eagle, Southern Prohibition, and Lucky Rooster. Lots of beer, food... and shots, for some reason.

Over the weekend, I went to Lexington, KY to attend a Craft Writing Seminar at University of Kentucky to hear from writing, publishing, and brewing professionals about the state of writing and blogging about beer and the craft beer scene. I got to meet Stan Hieronymous, author of How To Brew Like a Monk, Teri Fahrendorf, founder of the Pink Boots Society, and Garrett Oliver from Brookyn Brewing. It was awesome.

And now... parades! I'm all stocked up and ready to roll.
