Brewsiana at House of Blues this Sunday - Ticket Contest!

Local music and local beer, what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? Especially if it's FREE.

This Sunday (August 23), the House of Blues is holding its 2nd annual Brewsiana festival, featuring beers from NOLA Brewery, Bayou Teche Biere, Chafunkta Brewing Co., Covington Brewhouse, Parish Brewing Co., Tin Roof Brewing Co., Gnarly Barley Brewing Co., Abita Brewing Co., Great Raft Brewing, Mudbug Brewery LLC., and 40 Arpent Brewing Co.

There's going to be a bunch of music too, from Bonerama, Michot's Melody Makers, Nonc Nu & Da Wild Matous, Gal Holiday & the Honky Tonk Revue, Jake Landry and Right Lane Bandits, Hazy Ray, Tear Drop City, and Palmyra. Also... burlesque dancers and magic! (Side note: the magician's name is Magic Mike, which has a very different connotation these days, AMIRITE LADIES?)

The pricing of the event is pretty segregated. To get in the door and listen to music and watch Magic Mike, it's $12. (All attendees must be 21+.) To get some beers, it's $15 to get a sampling wristband for 5 pours. And food pairing tickets are extra as well. I have not been to this event, so I cannot say from first hand experience how it is.

However! I have a pair of tickets called "The Beer Date" to give away! This package includes two entrance tickets, two sampling wristbands, two $6 food vouchers, and two unnamed House of Blues branded gifts.

In order to get this package for a fun, free day of music and beer, you can do one of two things, or both.

  • ONE: Leave a comment here letting me know a Louisiana beer you've been enjoying this summer.
  • TWO: Share the link to this post on Twitter (tagging @noradeirdre) or Facebook (tagging NOLA Beer Blog). You gotta tag me or I won't know that you've shared the link.
  • BOTH: Each share will get you an entry, and if you leave a comment here, that's another potential entry, so you can be entered up to 3 times.
I'll be drawing the winner on Friday at 6pm, and will just need the winner's name to leave at the door.

If you don't get randomly selected to win the package, you can still go in exchange for money. Either the piecemeal pricing above, or you can purchase your very own Beer Date package for $70.

Or if you're feeling flush and want a VIP experience, you can get an Artisan package for $75 per person, which basically adds a VIP lounge in the Foundation Room from that opens up at 2pm with special beers like Gnarly Barley’s Porter Rican, Parish Brewing’s Ghost in the Machine Double IPA, NOLA’s St. Thomas Weisse, Great Raft’s Double Dry Hopped Commotion Pale Ale, and 40 Arpent’s Lemon and Black Pepper IPA. You also get a day pass (with complementary beverage) to the Foundation Room (a private club) for another occasion. Plus, it's limited to 50 people, so it should be a pretty chill experience.

All right, go nuts! Share below or on the social media, enter to win! I'll update on this blog and on social media at 6pm tomorrow.

Disclosure: I am not being compensated for this post in any way other than the one Beer Date package that I am giving away.

    1. I am loving that one as well - I think Zac's really nailed the recipe. Before, I thought it was a perfectly decent beer. Now, I think it's really great.

  4. I have recently found and loved Chafunkta's Voo Ka Ray IPA. 40 Arpent's Orange Blossom O-possum is a wonderful summer beer too.
