Good morning, beer peeps!

I'm out the door to head up to the Northshore, but I wanted to share a couple things:

• If you're intrigued by Abita's new Strawator - their strawberry doppelbock - it will be debuted tonight at the Bourbon House (144 Bourbon Street in the FQ, 504-522-0111, http://www.bourbonhouse.com/). Join the party and from 5-7pm $20 gets you a pint of the Strawator (O_o), alligator boudin ball, alligator burger, and strawberry dessert. They will also have other alligator and strawberry themed small plates for $5 each. According to the press release, they have other regular Happy Hour deals in play, so it may be worth it to stop by and check it out. Let me know how it is! I won't be able to try it till tomorrow at WYES.
• Speaking of WYES, I've been seeing all sorts of beer people this week and it's pretty cool to part ways saying, "see you on Friday (or Saturday)!" It's a nice unifying of all beer factions - beer geeks, brewers, breweries, homebrewers, Northshore, Southshore, New Orleans, Lafayette, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, new breweries, old breweries. Everyone's gonna be there. Which is awesome.
• Great LA Craft Beer Collective meeting on Tuesday. Many thanks to Evangeline's owners and staff and all the folks that brought beer to share - especially the guy who brought three cans of Heady Topper. Congrats to Rhea Gauchet for winning the pair of tickets to Saturday's event. See ya there, darlin'!
